NEEPCO is planning to set up a hydro electric power project across river Kurung at village Muiri in Kurung Kumey district in Arunachal Pradesh. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 34081 million. The company has completed detailed survey and prepared detailed project report. Accordingly, a 50 MW Power House Shall Have Two Units Of Francis Vertical Turbine of 25 MW Each, and a main 280 MW power house is envisaged. As of March 2016, the project is awaiting environmental clearance.
